We’re also preparing a few surprises for you, so get ready, and get EXCITED!

Speakers for the dinner:

Speaker 1:
Jessica Hammer - "Women and Risk: Taking Chances in the Game Design Classroom”
Jessica Hammer is a Mellon Interdisciplinary Graduate Research Fellow at Columbia University and a founding member of the Teachers College EGGPLANT game research laboratory.  Her work focuses on how games can help solve intractable social problems, from sexism and racism to addiction.  She also designed and developed the game design course sequence for the Communications, Computing and Technology program at Teachers College Columbia University.  In her free time, she runs an experimental storytelling group in New York City.

Speaker 2:
Kelly Farrell  -  “Dungeons and Digits: Building an Empire in your Basement”
Kelly Farrell is a web developer and hacker who spent most of her childhood saving up her $2 weekly allowance for a Nintendo Entertainment System and subsequent Nintendo consoles. She is a web developer by day and hacker by night, and is probably better than you at Geometry Wars 2. You can read more about her projects at Kellbot.com.

Attendees: Boy geeks are welcome to attend…if invited by a girl geek!
